Sunday was our last full day in Stockholm.
We had passed by a restaurant that we wanted to try because it had traditional Swedish food.
So for lunch, I had an elk burger. (shout out to Madi Kois)
It was very interesting, but it was better than a hamburger in my opinion.
After that, we went around to Christmas shops a bit more and hung out around the Old Town.
Fall or Christmas time...which is prettier?
Sweden and their viking merchandise..
candy store!
(get excited for your stockings, family)
I wish these pictures did justice for this view...
I spy city hall
going to protect the palace
stupid glare
so cute!
tourist shops
At this point we finally made our way to the northern island.
It was full of department stores and restaurants and everything you think would be in a "big city."
We walked in and out of stores just to stay warm, and of course see all the Christmas decorations.
Department stores really know how to do Christmas don't they?
It was a little funny because the night before, we went to this restaurant called "Vapianos"
It was Italian and delicious.
Well, we happened to pass by a different one on this island and were like "should we...?"
We decided to keep walking but eventually got super hungry and had no where else to go..
So we ate at Vapianos two nights in a row.
And I am not complaining.
They seriously need one in Charleston.
After dinner, we were pooped so we went back to the hostel to pack and prepare to leave the next morning.
if you look really closely, you can see some crazy kayakers
oh, it's dark now that I'm out of the store? okay.
PICK AND MIX
so many choices.
Sweden is good at candy
glögg is a magical substance.
(aka mulled wine)
window shopping is so fun in Sweden!
my new favorite
They were working on this outside our hostel!
Speaking of our hostel...
it was beautifully lit at night.
The next day, we didn't have much time before our flight went back to Bremen.
We just grabbed breakfast at the bakery near our hostel that we went to on our first morning.
It was so good, we had to go back for more!
On our way to the bus station, we passed by a record store.
It was the first one that I had seen since I've been in Europe.
One Direction's new album FOUR just happened to come out that day...
so I HAD to at least see if they had it.
And what do ya know, they did!
So I bought it of course, and quickly told my sister not to get it
(yes, I had her and my mom on a mission to get it for me in America and send me the songs)
I was SO PUMPED.
And yes, I've listened to it (actually, currently listening to it)
and it's amazing.
Give it a listen if you haven't yet. It's on Spotify and YouTube!
Anyway, we flew back to Bremen and had a pretty long layover to wait for our bus back to Groningen.
So we had decided to visit the city center since we had always flown in and out of Bremen, but never saw the city.
(Bremen is in Germany, for those of you who do not know where that is!)
It was so cute!
We got dinner and chocolate and were on our way home.
I was glad to finally get back to Groningen,
But went to Amsterdam the next day for a class excursion!
I will have those pictures up soon enough :)
Albert & Jack's. yum
<3 <3 <3
Here is Bremen:
These are the pictures from our flight!
It was my last RyanAir flight, which is a bit bittersweet.
It was beautiful coming into Stockholm though.
It was so cloudy and gross on the ground, but once you fly over the clouds, it's a whole different world up there!
So remember, behind every cloudy day, the sun is still shining.
(Just a little corny reality that is true in every situation)
the coolest picture! day meeting night
Hi, Germany
Alright, that's all for Stockholm!
Stay tuned for my (third) trip to Amsterdam
