I'm not sure if you guys feel the same way
but for me, Scandinavia is so mysterious.
I don't know much about it (and still don't)
so I had no idea what to expect going to Stockholm.
Well, I found out that it is such a cool city!
Imagine New York meets Venice meets Greece.
One thing is that it's HUGE.
Like, massive.
It's made out of a ton of different islands, so it makes it super spread out.
We stayed in the Old Town, which is the smallest of the main islands (according to my observations of the map).
It was so cute! Filled with little cafés and shops and cobble stone streets.
In preparation for the Christmas markets (which weren't until the next weekend)
precious take-away window!
may have made some purchases in this shop... ;)
this is a bubbie. it was delicious
Wall art
yeah, he made me pay him...
up to the palace...
they have a pretty good view
guarding the royals
Also, our hostel where we stayed was a boat!
Yeah, I felt like I was on Titanic the whole time.
It was so cool though.
I've never been on a cruise before, so I was amazed.
The view was so cool on the water.
This was our hostel!
Later that day, we went over to the southern island.
It's supposed to be the "retro" area.
It was very residential and had cool restaurants and residential areas.
It also contained the so-claimed best view of Stockholm...
treats!
What we found out about being so up north is that the sun sets super early.
I'm talking like 3 PM.
So by the time we went for lunch, it felt like we were eating dinner.
Very strange.
I didn't like it.
It was hard to get used to because when it gets dark, I just want to snuggle in bed, but you can't do that after only a few hours of being out and about in the city!
Wanna go to Finland?
Yeah, this is at like 4:30 PM
Swedish is a funny language
free bus to IKEA!
City hall
knitted bike :)
Sweden's own love lock bridge...
I'm telling you guys, Christmas decorations were on point here.
Stockholm part two will be up soon!
xo
